They’re Alive!
Did you know that when you eat Foods Alive snack crackers the flax seeds are still alive? That’s right, it’s not only our moniker, it’s a scientific fact! But how do our delectably delicious crackers come to fruition?
With special attention and care, we start the sprouting, or germinating, process by soaking our organic flaxseed, or seed blend depending on flavor, in filtered water. This process increases the nutritional value of the seeds. From there, we mix in other natural ingredients and spices. Once the ingredients are all mixed, we pump out the mixture onto parchment-lined trays. Then, the trays are placed onto large racks and rolled into our four-door commercial dehydrator. Lastly, the cracker mixture gets gently dehydrated at a low heat before getting cut into hexagon shapes and packaged by hand with care.
Why dehydration?
Simply put, dehydration is the act of extracting moisture. By using this process instead of baking our crackers, we are able to preserve the vital living enzymes and essential nutrients of the seeds without compromising their integrity. After this process, we are left with a healthy fulfilling snack made from ingredients you can pronounce! Arguably the best part, other than the taste, is that these crackers are full of good fats, omega-rich EFAs and are packed with plant-based protein and fiber. This is great news for individuals who are vegan or on a Ketogenic diet, but you don’t have to have dietary restrictions to enjoy the robust and bold flavors of these crackers. They may be a snack, but they fuel like a meal!
