Which contaminants does the pitcher filter remove? (e.g., Fluoride, Lead, Chlorine)
Our shower head filter removes the following:
- Free Chlorine (Cl-)
- Combined Chlorine (Sodium Hypochlorite)
- Hydrogen Sulfate (rotten egg smell)
- Iron oxide (rust water)
- Dirt, sediment
The filter does not remove fluoride, since it's not something that gets ingested in the shower. To learn more, visit the Test Results page for our Shower Head filters by clicking here.
How often should I change my filter?
Each fixed shower head filter lasts up to 5,000 gallons or 6 months (whichever comes first).
The material inside a brand new shower filter is a bright gold color. When the media inside turns from its original golden color to a dark grey or black color with white beads it is time to replace the cartridge.
