Which contaminants does the shower filter remove? (e.g. Cholrine, Fluoride)
Our shower head filter removes the following:
- Free Chlorine (Cl-)
- Combined Chlorine (Sodium Hypochlorite)
- Hydrogen Sulfate (rotten egg smell)
- Iron oxide (rust water)
- Dirt, sediment
The filter does not remove fluoride, since it's not something that gets ingested in the shower. To learn more, visit the Test Results page for our Shower Head filters by clicking here.
What's the problem with chlorine in my shower water?
Free chlorine found in tap water creates harmful vapors at high temperatures, like in the shower. This chemical additive is also absorbed through the skin and is harsh on your hair and skin. Our filtered showerhead uses a chlorgon-based filtration material to remove up to 97% of chlorine, allowing you to finally shower clean.
How's the showerhead installed? Will it work in my shower?
The universal design of our handheld shower head fits most homes and installs in minutes with a hand wrench. Simply unscrew your current showerhead and screw in ours. It’s that simple.
Will the showerhead affect my water pressure?
Yes, it typically reduces the water pressure by 5-10% as it flows through the filter getting rid of all those contaminants.
How long do the filters last?
Each fixed shower head filter lasts up to 5,000 gallons or 6 months (whichever comes first).
