Banana Nut Bread

recipe from Sylvia Heisey from Beets Café


  • 6 fresh bananas 
  • 2 cup chopped apple
  • ¼ cup raisins or dried cranberries
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup ground chia seed
  • ½ cup walnuts, chopped


      Process bananas, apple, raisins/cranberries, blueberries, lemon juice and vanilla till smooth.  
      Stir in ground chia seed and combine well.
      Place ¼ cup of mixture on teflex or parchment lined dehydrator trays.  
      Top with chopped walnuts.  
      Dehydrate for 6 hours @ 115F.  
      Place another dehydrator sheet on top and flip over, removing paper.  
      Place back onto original tray so nuts are on top.  
      Continue to dehydrate 4‐6 hours or more.  
      This is kind of like a soft cookie when done.
